Start with the real working point
Free-flow data is not enough for pump selection. The pump must be compared at the loaded condition created by tubing length, filters, valves, fittings and the final outlet or chamber.
For each project, record the medium, target flow, required pressure or vacuum, duty cycle, voltage and available envelope. These values become the selection baseline for the first model review.
Compare pump families by function
Air transfer, vacuum generation, liquid dosing and compact compression have different material, sealing, motor and heat-rise risks. The same target flow can require different pump families once the medium and pressure condition are known.
Keep margin visible
A selected model should not run at the edge of its usable range. Leave margin for filter loading, tube routing changes, supply-voltage tolerance, ambient temperature and production variation.
Frequently asked questions
Should I start from flow or pressure?
Start from the working point, which combines both. A flow value without the required pressure or vacuum does not describe the actual load.
When should I request samples?
Request samples after the medium, function, target working point and basic integration limits are defined well enough for a meaningful test.
